The 27-year-old actress joined summit organizers who said they would spend the coming weeks assembling teams of experts to travel to Africa and collaborate with individual first ladies on ways to launch new efforts and improve existing ones to address issues such as basic healthcare for women and children, HIV/AIDS and malaria on the continent.

[03/20/2009] New mom Jessica Alba loves motherhood so much that she's reportedly trying for second baby with husband Cash Warren.
The couple welcomed daughter Honor Marie into the world last June, and Alba has taken to the role of full-time parent.
She has revealed in the past she wants more than one kid, and insiders claim she has put her career on hold to try and conceive in 2009.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Jessica and Cash are working overtime to get pregnant. She and Cash are boasting that they love being parents and are determined to expand their family as soon as possible."

During the campaign, Alba appeared in Declare Yourself ads in a Hannibal Lecter mask. On Sunday, she stuck with a shimmery lip gloss to emcee the event. Eight-month-old daughter Honor was at home, but husband Cash Warren called her "chubby and delicious."
"I believe that every organization that was trying to get people to vote and get people to register that never had before, whether it was the youth, whether it was just new voters, people who didn't believe in the system, this campaign and all the other campaigns — they believe now," Alba said. "They made a difference."
Jessica wore a golden sleeveless asymmetrical dress which had a gathered front and was cinched at the waist with a black leather belt. She paired it with black tights and accessorized with black pumps, black bow clutch and spectacular multi colored stone earrings.

[10/06/2008] Jessica Alba has teamed up with "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere for a spoof video urging young people in the U.S. to vote at the upcoming presidential election.
Alba has been a longtime supporter of the Declare Yourself campaign, and has made two controversial ads for the organization in a bid to encourage Americans to take to the polls in November.
The latest ad featured Alba wearing a Hannibal Lecter-style muzzle.
And now the Hollywood actress has enlisted the help of 19-year-old Panettiere for a satirical clip that has been posted on YouTube.
The two stars are seen hosting a mock home-shopping show selling The Muzzler 2008, a similar device to that worn by Alba in the last campaign.
Panettiere is seen modeling a pink version, spelling out to youngsters the need not to let their political voices be silenced.
Marc Morgenstern, executive director of Declare Yourself, tells People.com, "Jessica and Hayden have an amazing ability to connect with young adults. Behind all the humor of the PSA lies a very serious message of what it actually means to sit out the election and effectively silence oneself."

The 'Sin City' actress -- who gave birth to her first child, Honor Marie, with husband Cash Warren last month -- will reportedly collect the sum from American magazine OK!.

According to TMZ, the two-part deal consists of pictures of the baby now, and one other "event", thought likely to be Christmas, Thanksgiving, vacation, etc.

A source told the site that Alba initially turned down the offers of several weekly mags, not wanting to sell, but eventually agreed to a transaction with OK!.

The baby is said to be "adorable" and the pictures, taken this week, are "so cute."

Jessica, 27, married Cash in a secret ceremony on May 19, shortly before she gave birth to Honor.

They met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004.

The Sin City and Fantastic Four star will take on the erotic role made famous by Jane Fonda in 1968.

Jessica Alba, 27, landed the part after director Robert Rodriguez split from his actress girlfriend, Rose McGowan.

He had been planning to remake the film with Rose in the leading role, but studio bosses refused to finance the £50million scheme because Rose wasn't a big enough name.

An insider said: "Now Rose is out of the picture, Jessica is perfect - she's gorgeous and can be a badass on screen."

"Jessica wants to try to brush up on her language skills so that she can start speaking Spanish at home in front of Honor,” a friend of the 27-year-old tells OK!.

Having not spoken the language in years, the actress' Spanish is little bit rusty, but she knows she needs to buckle down and re-learn it for her little girl.

“She knows that her own Spanish skills are not what they should be, and while she’s always under a lot of criticism, she is trying to make amends for that and do what’s right for her baby,” the source says.

"She'll be really attentive and really strong and she'll be a great role model," actress Rosario Dawson told PEOPLE at the Cinevegas Honorees Reception in Las Vegas on Friday. "She's very smart and I like that about her."

Dawson, who starred in Sin City with Alba and was being honored at the movie festival with the "Half Life" award, said she has already congratulated the new mother, and called Honor Marie Warren "a beautiful little girl."

"I don't know what people think about her on the outside or what their impression is, but Jessica is very strong and a very powerful woman," says Dawson.

As for who will rule with an iron fist, Dawson says, "She'll probably be the disciplinarian more than Cash. I can definitely see that."
